How to Evaluate Church

1.       Does it have heart? You know, does it really look for people to be different at a heart level? Christ died and rose again that we might really be different; that we might interact as a community at the heart level and bear each others burdens.

2.       Does it value the uniqueness of each person? This is tough. We can not spend all our time trying to get people to accept us for who we are. However, God designed church to work best with different gifts and talents being expressed. His Spirit intends to work powerfully and uniquely through each of us. (not just the pastor!)

3.       Does it make sense? Is there logical application to your daily life? Do the messages encourage practical change? Do they logically interpret current events and hot societal topics?

4.       Does it challenge you to give all for the sake of Christ? What good is a religious endeavor if it is not worth enough to require all your strength? Who would want a religion that has no call to action and change?

5.       Does it point your focus to others? Both inside and outside of the church or let you be content with being alone and independent? Should we not bear each others burdens? Should we not genuinely be connected with one another?
