Children Ministry

Our Philosophy of Children Ministry

(Delight and Train)

(Biblical Parenting 101)

  1. Delight: Proverbs mentions that parents should discipline the children in whom they delight. We work to nurture that attitude toward our children: Delight. It is such a powerful word. It speaks to joy, wonder, anticipation, love and acceptance. Delight is the motivation to carefully train up our kids right. We can not get enough of them. We love them like crazy.
  2. Train: We mean train. Our approach to children ministry comes directly from Deuteronomy 6. God tells the Israelites to impress His commands upon their children. He tells them to do so wherever they go all day long. Because we love them so, we diligently work to point them in the right direction, train them morally, introduce them to new things and help them to know what could hurt them deeply. They are like wet cement and we have a few years to really introduce them to the fullness of life that God has for them.

So, our children, on Sunday mornings, either in the church service with their parents or in the optional Childrens church (Children Meeting Jesus program) should expect to sense our wild and abundant delight in them. And they should expect to grow, learn, and develop. Specifically, learning about how much Jesus loves them and what amazing purpose He has for their life.
